What is a Folder Mapping?

Learn how folder mappings automatically organize your documents

Folder Mapping

A folder mapping is a feature that automatically routes uploaded documents to specific folders based on their document type.

How It Works

When you upload a document to the root folder (My Drive), 1Flow.io:

  1. Analyzes the document to determine its type (e.g., Invoice, Receipt, Bank Statement)
  2. Checks if that document type has a folder mapping configured
  3. Automatically moves the document to the mapped folder

Setting Up Folder Mappings

To configure folder mappings:

  1. Go to Settings in the navigation menu
  2. Select Document Types
  3. Choose the document type you want to configure
  4. Set the Default Folder field to your desired destination folder

Example

If you configure the "Invoice" document type to map to a folder called "Invoices":

  • Upload an invoice to My Drive - it automatically moves to the "Invoices" folder
  • Upload an invoice directly to "2024 Documents" - it stays in "2024 Documents"
